I just got back from a week long business mastermind retreat in Las Vegas. It was a great time with great friends and I think I achieved a lot from it.
In the past I always focused on a specific project for these meetings but this time I decided to focus on the How not the What if that makes since. You see I keep trying to figure out how to get more done not just for my clients but also for my business as well. Everyone says if you want to achieve more you need to make more time to get it done. Well if you know me at all you’ve probably seen message from me at all hours of the day and night, obviously I can’t add more hours to the day.
So to achieve more I need to look at being more productive by being more organized or simply plan better. So I got to think thinking about something my good friend Armand Morin says. “If You Continue To Think Like You’ve Always Thought, You’ll Continue To Get What You’ve Always Got”!
I also remember reading in a book that Michel Fortin recommended to me by Larry Winget called “Success Is Your Damn Fault”
. Larry Winget mentions in the book that you need to create a “MUST do list” because to do lists are things you may do someday.
I’m usually a guy that just attacks the day and work on what I see being the most important and I know that isn’t most productive, I realized that I need to think differently, so while at Armand’s AM 2.0 Platinum retreat I asked the question how can I get more focused to get more accomplished. I got some great feed back and plan to implement those strategies.
While I cant share all of the details here’s my plan of action that I’m going to work hard on to get more things done this year.
I made arrangements with a friend to be an accountability partner so that we keep each other in check for our goals.
I’m also setting aside at least one day a week to work on company projects to help grow our product offerings or build on existing products that we already have. And finally make a Must get done list and assign it to the day it must get done.
Obviously old habits are hardest to break but I have to remember that phrase. “If You Continue To Think Like You’ve Always Thought, You’ll Continue To Get What You’ve Always Got”.
I’d be interested to hear your comments on what has worked for you in getting more out of your day.

Ok JUST got back from the Product Master Seminar yesterday evening.
Heather Seitz and Kendra Cecieta put on an awesome event, I was honored with being able to speak at this event. It was great sharing the stage with many of my friends like Armand Morin, Michel & Sylvie Fortin, Mike Stewart, Bret Ridgway, Stu McLaren, Ray Edwards, Heather Seitz, Matt Bacak. And getting to speak on the stage with a few new people I’d not got to meet before like Kendra Cecieta, Josh Brown, James Malinchak was quite an honor.
I was taking notes through out the event myself. Heather and Kendra set up the event to put the speakers in a logical order, which was based on the order of how you would need that resource in your business, which is why I got to speak first since I was covering the basic tools to get started and how to create your first information product.

Ok I’m having trouble containing myself from all of the excitment as we hit October 1st. First off fall is my favorite time of the year, the weather gets cooler, the leaves start changing color, Football season and YES my favorite baseball team (The Chicago Cubs) is in the playoffs for back-to-back seasons the first time in 100 years that has happened. Ironically it has been 100 years since the Cubs have won a world series and I’m very optimistic about their outlook for this year.
It’s been 63 years since they’ve even made it to the World Series so you can imagine the excitement for us as we make the playoffs for a second year in a row with the best record in the National League. All I can say is lets get 10 more wins Cubbies! As you can imagine if I can root for a team that has not been in the Biggest game in their sport in that long I’m a pretty loyal person!!
Of course the excitement continues in October as I’m travelling tomorrow to attend Big Seminar 12. This will be my 11th time I’ve attended Big Seminar. (I missed Big Seminar 2 as it fell on my oldest daughters birthday.) Each year it gets bigger and better, it will be hard to top last years entertainment rumor has it there is video of me singing karaoke live from the Big Seminar stage during the Saturday entertainment.
Big Seminar is the best place I know to grow your business and your contact list, because there is so many like minded people there looking for more contacts and information to grow their business in every niche imaginable.
Of course that’s not all of the excitement for October because the 17-19th I’ll be back in Atlanta for the Product Mastery Seminar where I’ll be speaking. Yeah just like my beloved Cubbies I’ll be looking for a home run in October after a long apperance of getting to the big stage. It’s been a couple years since I’ve looked to do any public speaking and since my good friend Heather Seitz is hosting the event the opportunity came up for me to speak.
Heather has put together a GREAT lineup of speakers for the event all about Information Products so I’m sure it will be a great time (once i get through all the jitters of speaking again.)
I hope October turns out to be an exciting month for you as well just remember to take time to enjoy it don’t get so stressed out by all the news and politics that is going on. Make your own decision to be successful and do what it takes to make it happen.
